What Todomator is: task management for small teams
Todomator is a task manager for small teams: the people of a team create tickets, assign them, comment on them, attach files, track the time they take and follow what is pending. It is made by Total.js, it is open source under the MIT licence and free to use, also in commercial projects, and its repository is totaljs/todomator (version 1.7). The project recommends it for teams of up to 30 members, and you can run one instance per team.
These pages describe Todomator (revision af448eb of the repository).
What it gives you
- Tickets with a name, a status, folders, tags, a deadline, a priority flag, a billable flag, subtasks and links between tickets, written in Markdown (see tickets, folders and tags).
- Who sees what. A ticket is visible to its owner, to the people assigned to it, to its watchers, or to everybody when it is public.
- Time tracking with a start/stop timer or manual entries, for billing and payouts (see time tracking).
- Comments, attachments and notifications, with unread marks and live updates through a WebSocket.
- An open REST API to create tickets from other systems, for example from an email or from the contact form of a website (see create tickets with the API).
- Two-factor authentication (added in version 1.7), search, a calendar of tickets and bookmarks.
- Premium plugins (reminder, reports, user workload, extensions) that are part of the Total.js Enterprise service; the core of Todomator does not need them.
How it is built
Todomator is a Total.js 5 application that stores its data in PostgreSQL through querybuilderpg. The interface is built with jComponent and the Componentator components, and the API uses the Total.js API routes. Install it by following install Todomator; the settings and the database are described on their own page. The official documentation is at docs.totaljs.com/todomator.
